Dear reader,

Peace and blessings in Jesus name. It’s a new year, filled with so much expectations and desires. You might be believing God for a new job, new business opening, great career opportunity, financial or marital breakthrough or even the fruit of the womb. I have good news for you through this article that God has a set timing for you and your expectation this year, shall not be cut short.

The Bible clearly states:

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry(Habakkuk 2:3).

For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off (Proverbs 23:18).

I have titled this teaching God’s Perfect Timing and it is ordained to enable you have an understanding on how to overcome anxiety while waiting on God to deliver your desire and to also help you understand God’s will for you, even in your wait.

God has a set time for everyone. He is the creator of life and time and owns the script to everyone’s life. The truth is: He not only knows your needs, but He also know when that need will be best appreciated or utilized. God is never late or slow concerning his promises towards you (2 Peter 3:9). If He has said or promised anything regarding you situation, then you should be of good cheers for it will be accomplished according to His Word.

For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him (Genesis 21:2).

But what is God’s perfect time?

Time according to Merriam Webster Dictionary, is the measured or measurable period during which an action, process or condition exists or continues. However perfect timing as the name implies is the best, seamlessly and right period for a thing to be accomplished. God’s ways or timing cannot be equated with men, as He is always on time, no matter the years, months or days that you think have gone by.

The truth is: anything accomplished in God’s perfect time cannot come with regrets. In recent times, mostly amongst the youths, everyone is in a hurry and not willing to wait to inquire from God or the elderly for counsel in regards to vital decisions of life which is tied to timing. The Scriptures admonished, See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the lord is. (Ephesians 5:15-17). Having the knowledge of what is the will of God for you at all times, will launch you into your God’s perfect timing and whatever is done in the perfect time is always beautiful and colourful.

However, to walk in God’s perfect timing there are various things to avoid, which includes but not limited to:

AVOID PEER PRESSURE

Peer pressure according to Merriam Webster’s dictionary is a feeling that one must do the same things as other people of one’s age and social group in order to be liked or respected by them. Furthermore, it is the strong influence of a group especially of  youths, or members of that group to behave as everyone else does: Peers influence your life, even if you don’t realize it, just by spending time with you. You learn from them, and they learn from you. People most likely feel pressured by their peers, especially when it seems those friends or associates are achieving great feats beyond what you have attained. You must understand that we cannot all be at the same level at the same time and the fact that a person seem to have more than you do right now does not make you disadvantaged. In actuality, there are other areas of your life that he or she also desires that they have as well. Hence, for every level you are in, you should learn to give God thanks.

In waiting for God’s perfect time, it is important to be guided not to allow your friends talk you into accepting to do what is inappropriate or what you were not called to do. So many people have missed their divine calling through this. They have found themselves struggling in a particular job, country or even relationship because they want to be like their peers, and what they find themselves doing is not what they should be doing.  Don’t be pressured into marrying someone who is not a Christian only because he/she is rich. You don’t have to engage in immoral acts just to wear the latest clothes, shoes and bags all in the name of fashion, or to look as expensive and classy as your friends.

The Bible clearly states that there is time for everything under the sun (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Hence, that which you desire today, will definitely be yours at the right time when you can handle and appreciate it better. It is my prayer that you will not be pressured into the wrong direction, but will maintain focus and be patient while God prepares His best for you.

Avoid Anxiety

Anxiety is a tool the enemy uses to steal your patience. Philippians 4:6 says Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God. Patience is the vital tool in following God’s perfect timing. Anxiety is characterized by hasty decisions, covetousness, doubt, worries, fear, steals joy, kills peace, and makes one act foolishly. This destroys destinies, and breaks fellowship with God. Anything done in anxiety equals errors and regrets, but this is not your portion in Jesus name. Be restful and depend on God to give you everything he has planned for you in his time, he hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out that God maketh from the beginning. (Ecclesiastics 3:11). God is not too late nor slow, He is forever on time, just trust His timing and He will perfect all that concerns you.

Humanly speaking, it is an uphill task to wait for the perfect timing of God but with the help of the Holy Spirit you can. However, you cannot have the Holy Spirit when you don’t have Jesus. Jesus is the only way to a fulfilling glorious destiny. If you have not accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour of your life, you need to do so now. He is willing to help you; all you need is to say this prayer of faith:

Father, I realise that I have been a sinner. Today I believe you died and rose on the third day redeeming me from all my sins. Now I accept you lord, save me and accept me as your child, write my name in the book of life Thank You Father for saving me in Jesus’ Name.
