Dr. Dan DeWitt to CBN News: 'United Methodist Church Split Nothing New, Can Be Traced in Bible Back to Genesis 3'
The largest mainline denomination in the US has announced a plan to break up and many in the church are still trying to understand what it all means.
With close to seven million members, the United Methodist Church in the United States ranks as the largest mainline Protestant denomination, the largest Protestant church after the Southern Baptist Convention, and the third-largest Christian denomination.
It also has churches in Africa and does work in Southeast and Central Asia and Honduras.
Dr. Dan DeWitt, director of the Center for Biblical Apologetics and Public Christianity at Cedarville University located in Cedarville, Ohio, appeared on the Friday afternoon edition of CBN's Newswatch to talk more about the Methodist church splitting into two separate bodies.
